Integral AI Presented Wire Handling Skill at IROS 2024 ROMADO Workshop

24/10/14

Integral AI participated in the 4th Workshop on Robotic Manipulation of Deformable Objects: Beyond Traditional Approaches (ROMADO) at IROS 2024, held on October 14, 2024, in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The team presented Simulator-Based Machine Learning for Picking Up and Manipulating Tangled Wires, showcasing a system that uses simulation-based machine learning and a dual-robot setup to handle complex wire manipulation tasks.

The system demonstrated high accuracy in simulations and real-world tests, successfully completing tasks like picking, routing, and plug insertion with an 80% success rate. (Update in December 2024: Since the event, further refinements have significantly improved the system’s performance, achieving close to 100% success rates in simpler test scenarios.)

The ROMADO Workshop provided an excellent platform to share this innovation and explore advancements in robotic manipulation of deformable objects.
